Dembélé's Injury Sparks Crisis Between Paris Saint-Germain and the French National Team
Saturday 06-09-2025
The injury of French star Ousmane Dembélé has ignited a severe crisis between Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team, following his participation in the match between France and Ukraine.

Dembélé played in the second half but had to leave in the 81st minute after suffering a muscle strain in the back of his right thigh. According to RMC radio, the Paris Saint-Germain winger will be sidelined for up to a month and a half, which is a significant blow for the Parisian club ahead of a series of important matches.

According to the newspaper "L'Équipe", Paris Saint-Germain's management had expressed their refusal to allow the player to participate due to a previous injury to the hamstring of his left thigh sustained days earlier, and warned the medical staff of the national team against playing him. However, coach Didier Deschamps confirmed after the match that there was no risk to the player, and that the decision to include him was based on his good condition and the medical team's assessment.

Deschamps said: "There was no risk, and if there had been, I would not have played him. Although Dembélé felt better, he suffered an injury to the hamstring of the other thigh, he did not feel any sudden pain and seemed to be in good shape."

This injury comes at a sensitive time, as Paris Saint-Germain is set to face Lens in Ligue 1 on September 14, Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on the 17th, and Olympique Marseille on the 21st of the same month.
