Christensen's Future with Barcelona
Friday 05-09-2025
Danish defender Andreas Christensen is experiencing uncertainty regarding his future with Barcelona, as his current contract expires in the summer of 2026, and the club has not yet opened discussions for a contract renewal.

The 29-year-old player is in his fourth season with the Catalan club since his free transfer from Chelsea in the summer of 2022, and he was one of the key elements in the team's La Liga title win in his first season, before being plagued by a series of injuries.

Christensen has settled into his natural position as a center-back under the management of Hans Flick, participating in two matches this season for a total of 104 minutes, making him an additional option behind the starting duo Ronald Araújo and Koundé.

Christensen's departure next summer would not represent a direct financial loss for the Catalan club due to his free arrival, while his continuation or departure will depend on his performance during the current season and how much Flick relies on him in his new project.

According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport," Milan is interested in acquiring his services in a free transfer at the end of the current season.
