Barcelona Deliberates on the Future of Roni Bardgi
Saturday 02-05-2026
The case of Swedish player Roony Bardghji continues to generate interest within FC Barcelona as the summer transfer window approaches, with his future still undecided, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport."

Bardhi joined Barcelona last summer as part of a future investment project led by sporting director Deco, following his impressive performances with Copenhagen, which caught the attention of several European clubs before the Catalan club secured the deal for more than two million euros.

Despite his quick integration into the locker room and the warm welcome from his teammates, his appearances were limited. He played 25 matches, totaling 721 minutes across all competitions, mostly as a substitute, during which he managed to score two goals and assist four others, according to the newspaper.

Bardji plays as a right winger, which puts him in direct competition with the young star Lamine Yamal, reducing his chances of getting regular playing time, despite performing well whenever he participates.

The same source confirms that the player has not been negatively affected by his limited participation. Instead, he continued to work and develop within the team, fully committed to his current role, despite several players being ahead of him in the technical hierarchy.

The name Bardji has also begun to attract the attention of other clubs due to his young age, "20 years," and his ability to develop, which has put him on the radar of several European teams closely monitoring his situation with Barcelona.

Regarding his future, the newspaper indicates that Barcelona's management does not rule out any option, as the player's contract extends until 2029, and his salary does not burden the financial fair play rules, which gives the club significant flexibility in handling his case.

According to the Spanish newspaper, the club is ready to discuss the option of a loan if the player requests to leave, and may also agree to sell him if a suitable financial offer is made. It is noted that an offer of around ten million euros might prompt the management to seriously consider the deal, given the value of his contract and his development since his arrival.

Currently, Bardi's file is not a priority for the sports management led by Deco, who is focusing on other transfer-related matters, whether it concerns departures or reinforcements. The club prefers not to rush into making a decision.

Barcelona is also awaiting what the player will deliver in the upcoming period, especially during his participation in the World Cup. His performance there is expected to be a crucial factor in determining his future, given the club's desire to delay making a decision unless the player himself requests a change in his situation.
