Medical Examination Determines Medina's Transfer to Damak
The management of Damak Club is awaiting the Paraguayan Jesus Medina, the winger from Spartak Moscow, to undergo medical examinations in the coming days, in preparation for the official signing announcement to strengthen the southern team.
Informed sources revealed that Damak has completed its agreement with the Russian club's management to purchase the player's contract, who is known for his ability to play as a right winger, as well as on the left side or in the attacking midfield.
Medina is expected to arrive in Khamis Mushait to conduct the medical tests, and he will sign the contract immediately upon successfully passing the examinations, making him the new signing for the team in the ongoing summer transfer window.
If the transfer is completed, Medina will be the eighth foreign professional in Damak's roster, following the signings of Guinean Morlaye Sylla, Argentine Valentin Vada, Brazilians Kewin Silva and David Kayke, Moroccan Jamal Harkas, French Nabil Alioui, and Ivorian Yako Meti.
With the addition of the Paraguayan winger, the list of the eight foreign players approved in the team will be complete, while Brazilian Kayke falls under the category of allowed birth players in the regulations of the Roshan Saudi League.
It is worth noting that the regulatory systems in the Saudi league allow for the registration of a maximum of ten foreign players, provided that two of them are 21 years old or younger, which gives clubs additional flexibility in their choices.
The 28-year-old player began his career with Libertad in Paraguay, then moved to New York City FC in early 2018, before landing in Russia through CSKA Moscow, and then to Spartak in the summer of 2023.
Medina has played 58 matches with Spartak Moscow over two seasons, during which he scored eight goals and provided seven assists, and he represented his country in nine international matches between 2017 and 2023, delivering one assist.
