Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has announced his move to Turkish club Galatasaray during the current summer transfer window.

The Turkish star shared a photo on his official X account of himself wearing a Galatasaray hat as a child.

Galatasaray also announced via their official account the arrival of the former Manchester City and Barcelona player in Istanbul for medical examinations before the official signing.

The player will join on a free transfer with a contract that extends until the summer of 2027, making him one of the most prominent signings in the Turkish league this transfer window.

Gundogan, who has achieved numerous titles and championships during his professional career, aims to start a new experience in his career with the Istanbul giant, which is eager to achieve success both locally and in Europe.
