The management of Al-Qadisiyah has completed the contract procedures with German midfielder Julian Weigl, in a move aimed at strengthening the defensive midfield and compensating for the gap left by the departure of Argentine Ezequiel Fernandez to Bayer Leverkusen.

Fernandez officially left the club after a brief stint, moving to the German league, which prompted Al-Qadisiyah's management to act quickly to find a replacement with similar skill value and field experience.

Weigl represents a significant addition to the team due to his ability to control the rhythm of play and close spaces against opponents, along with his experience that will help the coach address the defensive mistakes that have emerged recently.

The German player is set to make his debut in the Al-Qadisiyah jersey in the upcoming match against Al-Hilal in the second round of the Saudi Professional League, which will take place in ten days.

In the same context, the management is intensifying efforts to finalize the deal for Portuguese Otavio from Al-Nassr, in case Spanish player Botrias moves to his new destination, to ensure closing the foreign player file before the registration period ends.
