The corridors of Manchester United have witnessed a state of anger following the unexpected exit from the English League Cup, after losing to Grimsby Town in a penalty shootout with a score of 12/11, in a match that ended in a 2/2 draw in regular time.

According to 'CaughtOffside', Manchester United's management has already begun to explore alternative options in case a decision is made to dismiss the Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim.

The report clarified that coach Oliver Glasner, the current manager of Crystal Palace, is the closest name to take over the reins of the Red Devils, should Amorim be dismissed, especially since he does not mind the idea of moving to Manchester United if he receives a formal offer.

The second name being considered is the Spaniard Andoni Iraola, the manager of Bournemouth, who has been delivering impressive performances with the team since taking on the role.

Ruben Amorim took charge of Manchester United last year, succeeding the Dutchman Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed due to poor results. Amorim has a contract with the club until the summer of 2027, but he is facing significant pressure due to the decline in performance.

Amorim has achieved 17 wins, 9 draws, and 19 losses, and he has not managed to secure any victories since the start of the new season, having lost to Arsenal 1/0 and then drawn with Fulham 1/1.
