Al Qadisiyah Earns 15 Million Euros from Fernandez's Transfer
Al Qadisiyah Club has reached a final agreement with German club Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Argentine midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez, allowing the Saudi team to earn a net profit of 15 million euros, with the possibility of the amount increasing in the future.
Al Qadisiyah had acquired Fernandez from Argentine Boca Juniors just a year ago for 20 million euros, with a five-year contract, before his star quickly shone in the league and King’s Cup competitions last season.
The young player, who is 23 years old, participated in 37 official matches wearing the Al Qadisiyah jersey, missing only two rounds of the Roshan League, which drew the attention of major European clubs.
Real Sociedad from Spain had submitted an offer to acquire the player; however, Al Qadisiyah's management preferred the German offer due to its financial superiority, especially with a clause that grants the Saudi club 10% of any future sale of Fernandez's contract.
Al Qadisiyah's management is currently seeking to sign a new midfielder to compensate for the departure of their Argentine star before the summer transfer market closes on September 10.
