Koulibaly Talks About Napoli and De Bruyne's Transfer
Sunday 24-08-2025
Senegalese Khalidou Koulibaly, defender of Al-Hilal Saudi Club, reminisced about his time with his former club Napoli, confirming that he looks forward to returning to the Italian city which he considers his home.

The Senegalese international Koulibaly played for Napoli from 2014 to 2022, after which he moved to Chelsea in England and then joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023.

Koulibaly said in an interview with Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio: "Napoli? We hope everything goes as planned, I wish that for them. We are talking about a great club with a rich history, which has won two titles in recent years. It would be wonderful if they won the third title; the club and the fans need that, especially the fans who deserve it, as Napoli is a club I carry in my heart."

He continued: "I wasn't surprised by what Napoli achieved because we had already laid the foundations, and those who remained did their job, repeating it last year. Coach Conte and his staff did a great job, as did the club. And if you have outstanding players like Lukaku, Anguissa, and Di Lorenzo, you feel they can still make a difference, and I'm happy for them, and I hope they do it again."

He added: "I want Napoli to finish first in Serie A this season, and my goal against Juventus in Turin was the best."

He continued: "I am happy about Kevin De Bruyne signing with Napoli; he is a top-class player and has a great team supporting him. I wish him all the best and hope he makes our fans dream."

He concluded: "I have many beautiful memories in Napoli, where my children were born. Napoli is always in my heart, and I can't wait to return to that city; the Neapolitan fans miss me."
