Youssef Belaili Sparks Controversy Over His Future Between Esperance Tunis and MC Alger
Sunday 24-08-2025
The Algerian international player Youssef Belaili has sparked widespread controversy on social media after he posted a musical clip dedicated to MC Alger via the 'story' feature on his official Instagram account.

This move has reignited discussions about the possibility of his return to his former team, amid ongoing reports about the potential departure from his current club, Esperance Tunis.

Despite some interpretations of signals as a 'hint of a return', media sources confirm that the management of Esperance is not considering parting ways with the player at this time and insists on keeping him at least until the end of his contract in the summer of 2026.

For his part, Belaili's father stated that his son does not intend to extend his contract with Esperance and has not closed the door on the possibility of returning to the Algerian league through MC Alger, provided that the latter presents an official offer that matches the player's value.

The 'Doyen' fans reacted strongly to the latest story, considering what the player posted as a 'message of love' that might indicate a return is imminent, while others viewed the step merely as a sentimental gesture without necessarily carrying a sporting dimension.

The Algerian newspaper Compétition reported that MC Alger's management is still committed to the dream of regaining their former star and is preparing a significant financial offer funded by the sale of their Burkinabe player Mohamed Zougrana for around 1.6 million euros, to invest in signing Belaili.

According to the same sources, Esperance requires one million euros to part with Belaili, giving them a strong bargaining chip in negotiations, especially since the player's contract extends until 2026.

Observers suggest that Belaili is likely to avoid entering into a direct conflict with his club's management this time, in order to maintain competitiveness and stay in the national team's considerations.
