Díaz: We Must Return to Work
Manchester City defender Ruben Díaz spoke to TNT Sports after the defeat against Tottenham, losing 2-0 in the second round of the English Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.
The player said: "Tottenham is a team that can be very dangerous. They started the match very well, and we didn't respond in the ideal way to maintain our style. The second goal was unfortunate and shouldn't have happened."
He added: "We tried to come back, but there were many things that needed improvement. Not everything was good in our first match, and now not everything is bad, so we have to return to work."
Regarding the defeat in front of the fans in the first match at the Etihad this season, Díaz said: "It's frustrating; we want to win more in front of our fans in our first home game. This is football, and we have to look forward."
The Portuguese defender also commented on signing a new contract with City, confirming: "It reflects our ambition and shows that we want to stay here and win titles. This is the mentality of the club, and nothing has changed."
