Officially.. Nottingham Forest Announces the Signing of Douglas Luiz

Nottingham Forest Football Club has announced the signing of Brazilian star Douglas Luiz from Italian club Juventus on a one-season loan, with an obligation to purchase permanently next summer under certain conditions.

Luiz's inclusion comes after a season spent in the Italian league with Juventus, where he participated in the UEFA Champions League, adding significant experience to Nottingham Forest's squad.

Luiz was born in Rio de Janeiro and began his football career with Vasco da Gama before catching the attention of Manchester City, who signed him in 2017. After two loan spells with Girona in Spain, he moved to Aston Villa in 2019, where he played over 200 matches, scoring 22 goals and providing 24 assists while wearing the Villains' shirt.

It is noteworthy that Luiz excelled notably in the 2022/2023 season with Aston Villa, where he received the awards for Player of the Season from both fans and teammates. The Brazilian international also played 18 matches for his national team and won a gold medal at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

In statements after the signing, Luiz said: "I am very happy to be here, this is a great club, and I chose to join because I see the great ambition that the club has. I am very excited to start the journey with the team and give my best for the shirt and the fans."
