Al-Ahli Opens the Door for Kessie to Return to Europe
The management of Al-Ahli Saudi Club has taken a decisive step regarding the future of Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie, after deciding to allow him to leave during the ongoing summer transfer window, paving the way for him to return to the European continent.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Yawm revealed that Al-Ahli granted Kessie the green light to negotiate with European clubs that have shown interest in signing him, as part of the club's efforts to reorganize its midfield for the upcoming season.
This decision came after Al-Ahli successfully secured the signing of Swiss international Denis Zakaria from French club Monaco, as the management believes his presence will be a strong addition to the team and compensate for Kessie's anticipated departure.
The Ivorian player joined Al-Ahli in the summer of 2023 from Barcelona for 15 million euros, signing a contract that extends for three seasons; however, his career with the team did not unfold as expected.
Meanwhile, Al-Ahli's management has strengthened its squad this summer with several new names, including Enzo Milot, Abdul Ilah Al-Khaibri, Saleh Abu Shamat, and Mohammed Abdul Rahman, as part of the club's efforts to enhance its lineup before facing Al-Qadisiyah in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong.
