Nkunku's Transfer to Bayern Munich Threatened with Failure
Sunday 17-08-2025
Bayern Munich has received a significant blow in its pursuit of French striker Christopher Nkunku, 27, who plays for Chelsea, as the transfer is now threatened with failure, according to information from the German newspaper "Bild".

The player's agent, Pini Zahavi, held a meeting with Chelsea officials on the sidelines of the team's match against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, but he left with bad news for the Bavarian club.

Current indicators suggest that Nkunku, whose contract runs until 2029, will remain in London for at least one more season, amid strained relations between the two parties.

However, Bayern Munich has not completely ruled out the transfer, especially since Chelsea was previously open to selling the player. The club's sporting director, Max Eberl, who is one of the main supporters of completing the deal, has recently entered into intensive negotiations with the London club.

According to the newspaper, Bayern Munich wants to loan Nkunku, while Chelsea prefers to sell him outright, putting the deal in a very precarious position.

It is worth noting that Nkunku moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2023 from RB Leipzig for 60 million euros and has been a target for Bayern since then, but Chelsea's financial demands prevented the deal from being completed last winter.

After the failure of the transfer for Stuttgart striker Nick Völkermaid and the departure of winger Kingsley Coman to Al-Nassr for around 35 million euros, Bayern Munich is in urgent need of strengthening its attack, with the possibility of continuing the search until the end of the current transfer market.
