Nice Coach Decides on Boudaoui's Future
The coach of French club Nice, Franck Haise, has put an end to the speculation regarding the departure of Algerian international Hicham Boudaoui during the current summer transfer window, confirming that the player will remain with the team for the upcoming season.
Earlier reports had revealed that German club Wolfsburg had made an initial offer of around 10 million euros to sign the midfielder of the "Greens", while Nice's management was waiting for an offer of no less than 25 million euros.
During the press conference preceding the match against Toulouse in the opening round of the French league, Haise settled the debate by stating: "Hicham Boudaoui will not leave. The club decides who stays and who leaves."
The French coach added: "Players may have personal ambitions, but we are working to maintain a team capable of competing and standing firm, with the return of injured players and strengthening the squad. We cannot reach the top seven positions if we lose key players like Hicham Boudaoui."
With this firm statement, Nice has definitively closed the door on Boudaoui's transfer this summer, at least in the absence of an offer that matches the ambitions of the French management.
