Nayef Aguerd's Future at West Ham: Between Staying and Leaving
Saturday 16-08-2025
Doubts are increasing regarding the future of Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd with West Ham United, as the club's management is preparing to restructure the team ahead of the new season under coach Graham Potter.

According to English media reports, the "Hammers" management is considering selling several of its key players to generate financial liquidity, with the list including: Nayef Aguerd, Emerson Palmieri, Tomas Soucek, Edson Alvarez, Guido Rodriguez, and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Aguerd's name had recently been absent from the rumor mill, which boosted expectations of his continued presence with the team; however, recent developments have placed him back among the players likely to leave this summer.

West Ham management has set the Moroccan defender's transfer value at around £20 million, a sum that may pose a barrier for interested clubs looking to lower the price.

It is worth noting that Aguerd's contract extends until the summer of 2027, having joined from French club Rennes, where he won the UEFA Europa Conference League with the "Hammers" and scored two goals for the team.
