The uncertainty surrounding the status of Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic within Al-Hilal is increasing, especially after the club signed Uruguayan Darwin Nunez from Liverpool on a contract extending until 2028.

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed via the "X" platform that Al-Hilal management informed Mitrovic that they are looking to bring in a new striker before participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, which the Serbian player has not yet experienced.

Al-Hilal is facing restrictions in registering players, as they are only allowed to register eight foreign players over the age of 21 before the start of the new Saudi Pro League season.

Mitrovic joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 from Fulham in England, on a contract until 2026, but the signing of Nunez complicates his position within the team.

Questions from fans remain about whether Mitrovic will continue to be part of Al-Hilal's starting lineup or if he will find himself outside the coaching staff's plans in the upcoming period.
