A Serious Blow to Al-Ahli Tripoli Before the Decisive Match Against Al-Hilal
Thursday 07-08-2025
Al-Ahli Tripoli's hopes of winning the Libyan Premier League title have taken a heavy blow after the Appeals Committee of the Libyan Football Federation rejected the club's appeal against the suspension of players Murad Al-Hadli and Muayad Al-Lafi on Wednesday evening.

With this decision, the absence of Al-Lafi and Al-Hadli from the crucial match against Al-Hilal, scheduled for next Sunday as part of the fifth round of the championship's final stage, is officially confirmed. This match will largely determine the identity of the Libyan league champion for the 2024-2025 season.

The two players will also miss the remainder of the team's journey in the Libyan Cup, which represents a significant technical loss for the Tripoli team at a critical stage of the season.

The Competitions Committee decided to suspend the players for three matches due to the events surrounding the capital derby between Al-Ahli Tripoli and Al-Ittihad in the third round of the championship's final stage, a decision that was met with rejection from the club's management, which sought to overturn it in vain.
