Surprising and Exciting Decision from Al-Shabab Management Regarding One of the Club's Teams
Thursday 07-08-2025
Al-Shabab Club announced its decision to cancel all women's football activities, including first division teams, youth, and girls, just before the start of the new sports season, a move that has raised many questions.

This direction comes amid a lack of sufficient financial support and a decline in the administration's interest in women's sports, along with the administrative vacuum that the game suffers from in the club, according to close sources.

The resignation of Princess Reem bint Abdullah bin Musaid from the women's football management marked a turning point in the future of the team, as she was the primary supporter for its establishment and development, and with her departure, the team's disintegration began to accelerate.

Several prominent players have left for other clubs, including Nora Ibrahim and Dalal Abdul Latif to Al-Qadisiyah, and Atheer Al-Juwair and Shaima Al-Abbasi to Neom Club, while Fatima Mansour joined Al-Ittihad.

In the recent transfer period, Al-Hilal attracted five elite players, including Khaira Hamrawi, Leila Ali, Al-Bandari Mubarak, Lin Mohammed, and Moudi Abdul Mohsen, which further weakened Al-Shabab's ranks.

Despite the achievements the team made in its early seasons, finishing third and then fourth in the women's premier league, as well as winning the futsal championship in 2023, the administration did not continue on this path.

The Saudi Football Federation currently faces the challenge of filling the void that Al-Shabab's withdrawal will leave, as it intends to promote a new team from the first division to maintain the full number of clubs in the premier league.

The team has already missed participation in the Saudi Super Cup for women, and an official announcement regarding its complete withdrawal from the upcoming season is expected, given the decision to cancel its women's activities.
