In a move that confirms Ajax Amsterdam's continued policy of supporting young talents of Moroccan descent, the club announced today, Monday, August 4, 2025, the signing of promising striker Zakaria Wazan to his first professional contract, which extends until the summer of 2027.

Zakaria, who is 18 years old, is considered one of the key players in the Moroccan U23 national team, and he has progressed through all age categories of Ajax since joining the academy in 2016, which has allowed him to accumulate significant experience despite his young age.

Under this contract, Zakaria will join the Ajax reserve team (U23) during the new season, paving the way for his promotion to the first team in the future.

In a surprising announcement, the club also revealed on the same day that Abdullah Wazan, Zakaria's younger brother, has signed his first professional contract as well.

Abdullah is 16 years old, plays as an attacking midfielder, and is considered one of the promising names in the youth teams within Ajax.
