According to "Football Italia", the Argentine talent Claudio Echeverri, a player for Manchester City, hinted at his desire to move to Italian club Roma during the ongoing summer transfer window, after commenting on a post by his teammate and fellow countryman Matias Soulé, a current Roma player.

The Italian capital club is close to signing Echeverri, who is 19 years old, on a one-season loan as part of its efforts to strengthen the team's attacking line this summer. The player is part of a list that also includes Fabio Silva, Nini, and Antonio Nusa.

According to reports, Manchester City offered Echeverri a plan that includes loaning him to Girona for the 2025/2026 season, in preparation for integrating him into the Premier League first team in the following season. However, the player prefers to play in the Champions League or the Europa League, making Roma a more attractive option for him.

Manchester City has so far rejected the idea of selling the player permanently and insists on only loaning him, while Roma is seeking to include a clause that allows for the future purchase of the player, which could complicate negotiations between the two parties.
