Officially: Tottenham Announces the Signing of Joao Palhinha on Loan

The English club Tottenham Hotspur announced today, Sunday, its signing of Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha, coming from Bayern Munich, on loan until the end of the 2025/2026 season, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Palhinha is 30 years old and began his professional career with Sporting Lisbon, where he had several loan spells to Moreirense, Belenenses, and Sporting Braga, before contributing to Sporting winning the Portuguese league title for the 2020/2021 season after a 19-year absence.

The Portuguese star moved to the English league in 2022 through Fulham, where he shone impressively and was named the club's Player of the Season during his first year, also topping the list of players with the most successful tackles in the Premier League during his time with the team.

Palhinha joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024 and was part of the team that won the Bundesliga title last season.

On the international level, Palhinha has 34 caps with the Portugal national team, having participated in Euro 2020 and 2024, as well as the 2022 World Cup, and he also won the UEFA Nations League title with the team in June.
