Mourinho Decides on Sofyan Amrabat's Departure
Turkish newspaper "Tekvim" revealed that Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, the head coach of Fenerbahçe, has decided not to part with the services of Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat during the ongoing summer transfer window, unless one condition is met: to first sign a replacement of equal technical value in the midfield.
Amrabat is considered one of the targets of Italian club Juventus, which is monitoring the player in preparation for negotiations to acquire him, as "La Vecchia Signora" seeks to strengthen its midfield ahead of the new season.
However, the Turkish newspaper clarified that Mourinho's desire to temporarily retain Amrabat is hindering the progress of negotiations, as Fenerbahçe's management refuses to engage in any deal before securing a suitable replacement.
Meanwhile, Italian media reports indicated that there are preliminary negotiations between the two clubs regarding a potential swap deal, which would involve Amrabat moving to Juventus in exchange for Brazilian Douglas Luiz joining Fenerbahçe, amid the latter's exclusion from Croatian coach Igor Tudor's plans.
Amrabat is considered an ideal option to strengthen Juventus's midfield, given his extensive European experience and outstanding performance with the Atlas Lions on international stages.
Fenerbahçe had signed Sofyan Amrabat on loan in the summer of 2024, before activating the purchase clause this summer, making the Moroccan player officially part of the Turkish team.
