Ghent Renews Negotiations to Acquire Algerian Abdelkahar Kadri
Tuesday 29-07-2025
The Belgian club Ghent has renewed its serious desire to sign the Algerian international player Abdelkahar Kadri during the ongoing summer transfer window, taking advantage of the player's rebellion and his refusal to return to training with his team Kortrijk after their relegation to the second division.

According to what was reported by the Belgian website "Walfout", the Ghent management has reopened negotiations with Kortrijk after their first offer of 500,000 euros was rejected.

Expectations indicate that Kortrijk may show flexibility this time, given Kadri's explicit desire to leave and his absence from the summer preparations.

The deal faces some financial complications, as Kortrijk demands an amount no less than two million euros, due to a clause in the player's contract that stipulates giving his former club Paradou in Algeria 50% of the sale value; this condition increases Kortrijk's management's insistence on achieving the maximum possible financial benefit.

Since joining Kortrijk in the summer of 2021, Abdelkahar Kadri has participated in 110 matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 20 assists, making him one of the standout midfielders in the Belgian league.

His contract expires in June 2026, while his current market value is estimated at 2.2 million euros according to Transfermarkt.

The player is also attracting interest from other prominent clubs, such as Anderlecht, but the final decision remains dependent on Kortrijk's willingness to reduce their financial demands.
