Everton Targets Former Arsenal Player to Strengthen Squad
Monday 28-07-2025
Sky Sports reported that Everton has shown interest in signing Englishman Ainsley Maitland-Niles, the current player for Olympique Lyon and former Arsenal player, during the ongoing summer transfer window.

David Moyes, the manager of Everton, believes that Maitland-Niles' experience in the Premier League and his ability to play in multiple positions between defense and midfield will be an important addition to the team's rebuilding project this summer.

The 27-year-old player's contract with Lyon runs until June 2027, but the French club is open to selling him if a suitable offer comes in. The network indicated that the player is open to returning to the Premier League through Everton, despite having other offers, notably from Turkish club Galatasaray.

Maitland-Niles participated in 43 matches with Lyon last season, most of which he played as a right-back, and he succeeded in contributing to 8 goals between scoring and assisting.
