Surprise About Al-Nassr's Interest in Signing Antony
Monday 28-07-2025
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the head coach of Al-Nassr, has made his position clear regarding the signing of Brazilian Antony, the Manchester United winger, during the current summer transfer window, preferring to take his time and focus on other deals.

Despite reports from foreign media about Al-Nassr entering official negotiations to sign Antony, the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" confirmed that the player was only proposed by intermediaries without any official move from the club's management.

The Al-Nassr management has not made any direct contact with Antony or his representatives so far, as they await instructions from coach Jesus, who has outlined his technical priorities before proceeding with the addition of new players to the team.

Jesus has placed Joao Felix, coming from Chelsea, at the top of his list to strengthen the attack, as a replacement for Colombian John Duran, who has moved to Turkish club Fenerbahçe, as part of a well-thought-out plan to build the squad.

Al-Nassr is also looking to strengthen other positions by signing a new defender to replace the departed Aymeric Laporte, an attacking midfielder instead of Otavio, in addition to a player from the youth category in the left-back position.

The club has so far made three signings in the summer market, including Nader Al-Sharari in defense, Abdul Malik Al-Jaber in midfield, in addition to the most prominent signing of Portuguese Joao Felix from Chelsea.
