
The Competitions Committee Announces Heavy Penalties on Al-Ahli Benghazi
The Competitions Committee of the Libyan Football Federation announced today, Sunday, decisive decisions regarding the first round of the six-team championship in the Libyan Premier League, following the crisis that occurred during the match between Al-Ahli Tripoli and Al-Ahli Benghazi.
The committee decided to consider Al-Ahli Benghazi as the loser with a score of (0-2) against Al-Ahli Tripoli, with a deduction of 3 points from their tally for the next season, and fined them 20,000 Libyan dinars, based on paragraph seven of article (57) and article (62) of the penalties regulation.
Additionally, the committee issued an extra penalty on the club, consisting of a financial fine of 1,500 dinars according to the text of article (51) paragraph (1) of the penalties regulation.
Al-Ahli Benghazi coach Nasser Abdul-Daem Al-Hadiri has been suspended for one match with a financial penalty of 300 dinars, due to the events that led to the suspension of the match, based on the text of article (38) paragraph (4).
Among the harsh decisions, player Murad Abu Bakr Muhammad Al-Wahishi has been suspended for 6 months with a financial fine of 3,000 dinars, according to article (25) paragraph (1) of the disciplinary regulation.
These decisions come as a continuation of the controversy surrounding the crisis of the "Al-Ahli" match, which saw the withdrawal of the refereeing crew before its conclusion due to protests against the VAR decisions.
