Swedish striker Viktor Jovic of Sporting Lisbon is close to leaving the Portuguese club during the current summer transfer window, amid strong reports linking him to a transfer to English club Arsenal, which has shown serious interest in signing him, with the player welcoming this move.

Jovic still has three years left on his contract with Sporting Lisbon, which runs until June 30, 2028.

In this context, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Sporting Lisbon has reached an agreement with Spanish club Almeria to sign Colombian striker Luis Javier Suarez as a potential replacement for Jovic.

Romano clarified that the deal includes a fee of 25 million euros, along with a clause granting Almeria 10% of the player's future sale value, with a full agreement reached on personal terms.

Suarez's contract with Almeria runs until June 30, 2029, and he had an outstanding season with the team, participating in 43 matches during the 2024/2025 season and scoring 31 goals, along with providing 8 assists.
