Zakho Club announced today its official contract with the Iraqi star Sherko Karim, coming from Erbil Club, in a deal described as one of the most prominent moves for the team in the summer transfer market, in preparation for the upcoming football season.

Sherko Karim's return to Zakho is not just a transfer deal; it carries a special symbolism as the player previously represented the team in 2013 and was one of the names that left a clear mark at that time, before starting his extensive professional journey that took him through several local, Arab, and European clubs.

Sherko Karim has an impressive record and a rich career, having previously worn the jerseys of well-known clubs such as Al Kuwait, Al-Shorta, Grasshopper Zurich, LASK Linz, and Vaduz from Liechtenstein. He is known for playing on the left wing with high technical skills and great speed, along with his field vision that has made him a distinguished playmaker at various times.

Sherko is considered one of the players who represented the Iraqi national team at different times, achieving significant accomplishments, most notably winning the Gulf Cup 25 held in Basra, where he was among the names that contributed to regaining the title that had been absent from Iraqi football for many years.

The management of Zakho Club confirmed in its official statement that the contract with Sherko Karim comes as part of the club's policy to strengthen the team with players who have the experience and capability to lead the technical project for the upcoming season. They praised the player's technical level and leadership personality, considering that he will be a strong addition both on and off the field.

For his part, Sherko Karim expressed his happiness at returning to Zakho.
