
Riyad Mahrez: The Idea of Returning to Europe Always Follows Me
Algerian player Riyad Mahrez, who plays for Saudi Al Ahli, revealed the possibility of leaving the club to return to European football in the near future.
Mahrez said in an interview with the French newspaper "L'Équipe," in response to the possibility of returning to Europe: "Sometimes this idea crosses my mind, because I am passionate about high-level football, and I miss that atmosphere."
He continued: "Since I made the decision to come to Al Ahli Jeddah, I have to seek challenge and motivation in Saudi Arabia."
He added: "I am comfortable here at Al Ahli, and as I said, we are part of the project to develop Saudi football and create a strong national team of young players."
Regarding Al Ahli's interest in signing Messi, he said: "I heard about that, but I don’t know if it will happen."
Mahrez pointed out: "If it happens, it would be unbelievable for us as players to have the best player in history in our team, Al Ahli."
He continued: "My dream is to play at the Velodrome stadium with Marseille; I have been a fan of the French club."
