Yamal's Father Defends Him Amid Birthday Party Controversy
The controversy continues around the birthday party of young Barcelona star, Lamine Yamal, after he faced widespread criticism on social media due to a video that circulated showing a group of people with dwarfism on their way to the party he held to celebrate turning 18 years old.
Yamal faced a significant backlash that prompted his father, Munir Nasrawi, to come out and defend him in press statements, confirming that his son did not commit any wrongdoing, despite reports suggesting that the Spanish government might file a lawsuit against him.
Nasrawi said: "He is a young boy, people need to understand that he is an eighteen-year-old, and he has the right to enjoy life a little."
He added: "We all realize that he is a professional athlete no matter what, but he is also a young man like others, he is of his age, and he has friends."
Regarding the allegations of misconduct at the party, the player's father emphasized: "He is a role model for many children, and nothing more than that, we did not say anything wrong, and my son did not commit any mistake, and if he had, I would be the first to warn him as a father, I would have pulled him by the ear and told him: this is not done, my son."
Nasrawi concluded his statements by saying: "But my son did not do anything wrong, and if he had, police stations are available, let them go and file a complaint, since he did nothing, there is no problem."
