Al-Ahly Decides to Retain Wissam Abu Ali
The Al-Ahly Club has decided to close the file on selling Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali permanently, allowing him to continue with the team in the upcoming season.
It is worth mentioning that the Al-Ahly Club received several offers from foreign clubs interested in signing Wissam Abu Ali during the current summer transfer window.
Al-Ahly stated in an official statement that the club's management decided to keep Wissam Abu Ali with the team according to his contract, which is valid until the summer of 2029.
Al-Ahly clarified in its statement: "The club received an offer from Al-Wasl of the UAE to purchase Wissam Abu Ali, with the financial compensation ranging from $2.5 million to $4 million, then $6 million + 20% of the net sale proceeds. The response was that the offered amount does not match Al-Ahly's demands and the player's capabilities."
The statement added: "Al-Wasl did not contact the club again after Al-Ahly clarified its position. At the same time, another offer was received from Columbus Crew of the USA, starting at $4 million and reaching $5.25 million + $750,000 in additional benefits + 10% of the sale proceeds."
The club responded to the American club that the financial compensation was less than expected, and the financial value for player Wissam Abu Ali should not be less than $9.5 million + $2.5 million in additional benefits.
