Saudi Al-Hilal Aiming to Sign Ismaël Bennacer
The Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" confirmed that Saudi Al-Hilal is interested in signing Algerian Ismaël Bennacer, a midfielder for Milan, during the current summer transfer window.
According to the newspaper, Al-Hilal inquired about the possibility of signing Bennacer at the request of their new coach Simone Inzaghi, with support from his former teammate at Milan, Theo Hernandez.
The Algerian player earns an annual salary of 4 million euros, while Milan's management, represented by sporting director Paolo Maldini and CEO Giorgio Furlani, has shown a willingness to let him go to ease financial burdens.
Bennacer is expected to return to the training camp on July 21, after the team has started its camp in Singapore, but the Italian club hopes to find a suitable offer for him before this date.
The newspaper pointed out that Milan's position is completely different regarding Christian Pulisic, who is considered a key player in the club's project, despite not renewing his contract, which runs until 2028, amid concerns over the temptations from Saudi clubs offering salaries that are hard to compete with.
