Slovakian Ondrej Duda, the latest signing of Al-Ettifaq Club, is preparing to join the first team camp held in Portugal, mid-July, according to special sources for Al-Riyadiyah newspaper.

The source confirmed that Duda will join the team’s delegation during the early days of the external camp, after completing all procedures related to his transfer to the Saudi club.

It is expected that Al-Ettifaq will announce during the coming hours its official contract with Duda, the midfielder coming from Italian club Hellas Verona, with a two-year contract in a free transfer deal.

The signing of Duda, who is 29 years old, came based on a recommendation from the team’s coach Saad Al-Shahrani, due to his ability to play in the pivot position as well as center-back, which gives the team tactical flexibility.

Duda has a long professional career that began in 2013 with Kosice in his home country, then shone with Legia Warsaw, and went through several European experiences with Hertha Berlin, Norwich City, and Cologne, before joining Verona in Italy.
