The Spanish police revealed the initial results of the investigations into the tragic car accident that claimed the lives of former Liverpool player Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva last Thursday while they were in Spain preparing to return to England for Liverpool's training camp.

According to Sky Sports, investigations showed that speeding was the main cause of the accident, as the car significantly exceeded the maximum speed limit on the highway.

The investigations also confirmed that Jota was the one driving the car at the time of this tragic incident.

A statement from the Civil Guard in Zamora, released today, Tuesday, indicated that the expert report is still being prepared and will be submitted to the Puebla de Sanabria court upon completion, while the examination of the tire marks left by the vehicle continues to determine all the circumstances of the accident.

It is worth mentioning that Jota and his brother's funeral was held last Saturday in their hometown of Gondomar, Portugal, attended by family members and a large number of football players from Liverpool and the Portugal national team.
