Bayern Munich Monitoring Chelsea Defender
Tuesday 08-07-2025
German newspaper "Bild" reported that Bayern Munich is exploring the option of signing Renato Veiga, the young Chelsea player aged 21, to bolster their squad in the center-back position.

This interest comes amid Bayern Munich's desire to sell their defender Min Jae Kim, who is 28 years old and has become part of the outgoing list.

Veiga possesses high technical abilities, excelling in the center-back position as well as on the left wing, giving him great tactical flexibility. The Portuguese player has also represented his country in five international matches, including his appearance in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain.

Reports indicate that the deal could reach around 35 million euros, which is the amount Bayern needs to pay Chelsea to acquire the player. However, official negotiations between the two clubs have not yet commenced, despite Chelsea being aware of the interest.

Veiga previously played on loan at Augsburg in the German league in 2023, but the loan ended prematurely due to disciplinary issues.

Bayern Munich is seeking to strengthen their defense before the upcoming season, and they consider Veiga as an important option in their plans.
