Hamdallah's Transfer to Al-Hilal Sparks Legal Controversy Despite Confirmation of Legitimacy
Monday 07-07-2025
Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah has returned to Al-Shabab after the end of his short loan period to Al-Hilal, which was designated to support the team during their journey in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Al-Hilal's journey in the global tournament stopped at the quarter-finals, following their loss to Brazilian Fluminense with a score of two goals to one, thus ending Hamdallah's participation with the leader.

Although the transfer was made officially, analysts raised legal controversies surrounding it, due to the short duration of the loan (only one month) and the timing of the player's registration outside the winter transfer window.

Expert Ayman Al-Rifai confirmed that the procedures for Hamdallah's transfer to Al-Hilal were legally sound and did not violate any clear regulations, despite what he described as a "regulatory loophole" in the system.

Al-Rifai pointed out that this case could open the door for other clubs to attempt to exploit the same situation in the future, necessitating a review and amendment of the regulations to ensure competitive integrity.
