Ronaldo's Sister Supports Him After His Absence from Jota's Funeral

Katia, the sister of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, responded to the criticism directed at the Al-Nassr player after he missed the funeral of his compatriot and Liverpool player Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese newspaper "A Bola" reported that Ronaldo preferred not to attend the funeral to avoid causing a media frenzy that could increase the suffering of Jota's family and brother at a time that requires calm and privacy.

Katia said on her Instagram account: "When my father passed away, the pain was not only in the loss but in the flood of cameras and onlookers at the cemetery, and everywhere we went, it was indescribable destruction... graves were vandalized, and walls were climbed by people with no respect."

She added: "We couldn't even leave with dignity due to the chaos. There were officials and the national team coach, but I didn't even register who greeted me... the pain was overwhelming."

She emphasized: "Anyone who criticizes my brother's absence or doubts his support, I will not discuss with them, I will block them. I am tired of free criticism and blind extremism, our society is sick... without empathy, without awareness."

She concluded: "It is unfortunate that the media and social platforms preferred to talk about Ronaldo's absence instead of respecting the tragedy of a grieving family that lost two of its children. I feel ashamed of this reality. This is how the world has become... opinions without value, and people without heart."
