Bayern Munich's Attempt to Sign Jeremy Gieten
The German newspaper Bild revealed Bayern Munich's attempt to contract the English winger Jeremy Gieten from Borussia Dortmund.
The newspaper reported on an offer from the Bavarian club to sign the player, before Chelsea successfully finalized the deal, awaiting the announcement.
According to the report, Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl contacted Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, by phone on Saturday and informed him that Bayern was willing to pay up to 55 million euros to acquire Giemy Gieten.
However, Dortmund had previously rejected a similar offer from Chelsea in early June. In the end, the deal was made with Chelsea for 65 million.
