Monday 30-06-2025
Norouz Club achieved a significant and exciting victory over its host Duhok with a score of 4-1, in the match that brought them together this evening at Duhok Stadium, as part of the 37th round of the Iraqi Stars League, confirming the superiority of the people of Sulaymaniyah over their neighbors in the region once again after they had secured the first leg match with a score of 3-1.

The match started with a clear advantage for the home team, where Hassan Imad succeeded in scoring an early goal for Duhok in the 5th minute, igniting the stands and giving his team a significant morale boost. However, Norouz was not too affected by the early goal and gradually began to impose its control over the midfield, taking advantage of the smart movements from the midfield and attack.

The response came in the 34th minute from player Aso Rostam, who brought the match back to square one with an equalizing goal, thus establishing a positive draw by the end of the first half.

In the second half, Norouz appeared completely different and began to exert strong pressure on the shaky Duhok defenses, which resulted in scoring a leading goal in the 73rd minute by Jatoush Banom, putting his team ahead and scattering Duhok's plans.

Things worsened for the home team after the referee showed a red card to player Zakri in the 82nd minute, leaving Duhok to complete the match with ten players, which Norouz exploited optimally.

In the 87th minute, Marwan Hussein widened the gap with a third goal, before Alaeddin concluded the goal festival in the 91st minute with a wonderful fourth goal, confirming Norouz's complete dominance over the match proceedings, amidst a total collapse in Duhok's defenses.

With this victory, Norouz raises its tally to 52 points, confirming its strong presence as one of the strong mid-table clubs this season, while Duhok continues to suffer a points loss despite its strong start this season, remaining with its current tally of 54 points in eighth place, amidst numerous questions from its fans regarding the recent decline in results.
