A New Development in the Al-Nasr vs Al-Wahda Match Crisis
The Sports Arbitration Center has officially announced the formation of a three-member arbitration panel to consider Al-Wahda's protest regarding the legality of postponing their match against Al-Nasr, which took place on February 25th.
Al-Wahda's protest came after the kickoff of the match was delayed from 7 PM to 8 PM, following Al-Nasr's bus arriving at the Al-Shara' stadium just nine minutes past the scheduled time.
The regulations allow the disputing parties to form an arbitration panel consisting of either a single arbitrator or three arbitrators, based on the agreement of both parties, which was reached between Al-Wahda and Al-Nasr.
Al-Wahda chose Tunisian arbitrator Hamid Al-Maghrabi, while the Saudi Football Federation, in coordination with Al-Nasr's management, nominated Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Abdulkarim as their representative arbitrator.
The panel was completed with the appointment of Ahmed Abu Amara as the tie-breaking arbitrator between the two parties, to lead the panel towards issuing a final decision after reviewing the details of the complaint and the controversial incident.
