Ahmed Hassan stated via Facebook: "A source in Al Ahly: Hamdi Fathy's loan with Al Ahly has ended, and there is no consideration within the team to buy the player or to extend his loan for the new season."
The match between Al Ahly and Porto of Portugal ended in a 4-4 draw in the third round of the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Al Ahly failed to qualify for the round of 16 of the tournament.
