A New Crisis Threatening Al-Ahli's Stability
Sunday 22-06-2025
Media personality Mohamed Al-Khamis revealed a crisis within Al-Ahli Club caused by the stance of the sports director Lee Congerton, who categorically refuses to manage any negotiations concerning local players, insisting on focusing only on foreign elements.

Al-Khamis clarified that this decision has led to a clear administrative void in dealing with the files of Saudi players, emphasizing that many of them do not find anyone to follow up on their issues or discuss their professional future within the club's walls.

He specifically mentioned player Ali Majrashi, who excelled in the Roshan League and the AFC Champions League, pointing out that he has already entered the free period of his contract without any official communication from Al-Ahli's management regarding its renewal so far.

Al-Khamis indicated that Al-Ahli's neglect of Majrashi's file has piqued the interest of several clubs, foremost among them Neom Club, which has begun to take actual steps towards acquiring the player, taking advantage of the indifference within Al-Ahli.

Al-Khamis concluded his statements by confirming that Congerton's insistence on ignoring local players and his policy of "silence" threatens to trigger a larger internal crisis, amid an uncertain fate awaiting several prominent names in the team.
