Courtois: I am at the club's disposal, and we do not read what is said in Spain

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois appeared in statements to the media on the sidelines of today's match against Pachuca, in the second round of the group stage of the Club World Cup.

The Belgian goalkeeper said: "Pachuca is a tough opponent. We faced them last December. They defended well, and winning the match was difficult for us. It won't be easy, but we know we have to win and play as we did in the second half against Al Hilal."

He added regarding the criticisms: "We do not read what is said in Spain. We know that the second half was better against Al Hilal. We watched the videos where the coach explained what needs to be improved, and that is what matters. If we do not play well, we know there will be criticisms, but it's not a problem."

On Xabi Alonso: "Every coach has his own style. We will not find similar coaches. We look forward to listening to him, learning from him, and developing. What he asks of us theoretically, we will try to apply practically on the field."

He emphasized: "We are in full mental strength, and everyone aims to win. We have to prove that by playing at a faster pace. If we do what we need to do, we will win the match."

About the differences in styles in this competition: "Each team has great players. There is a style closer to South America and another closer to Europe. It is constantly changing. The South American teams perform wonderfully. We have always respected all teams from all continents, and we know they are great teams as well."

He stressed: "The heat does not help; it is not an excuse, but it does not help maintain a high playing rhythm. I realize that in the end we play according to a schedule suitable for the European league, but it is not the healthiest. That is the reality; we have trained for a week, and we are adapting well. If one of the players is tired, we can make five substitutions, and we have a very strong lineup."

He noted: "We drew in the first round, and we have to win the next match to try to rise to the top position. This pressure is always present."

He concluded about his future: "I am very happy here, and I hope to stay as long as the club wants. There are communications, and they know that I am happy, and I am at their disposal. If they want, I am ready, without any questions."
