Liverpool FC has announced the signing of German playmaker Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen on its official website.

The club clarified that Wirtz, who is 22 years old, signed a long-term contract with the Reds after successfully passing his medical examination and reaching a full agreement on personal terms.

Wirtz expressed his great happiness at joining Liverpool, confirming that he looks forward to starting a new adventure in the Premier League, noting that he received positive advice from players who have previously played in the Premier League.

Wirtz is considered one of the most promising talents in European football, having delivered impressive performances with Bayer Leverkusen last season, and he also won a league and cup double with the team in the 2023/2024 season, in addition to reaching the UEFA Europa League final, without suffering any losses in the Bundesliga.

The player is expected to join the team's training in preparation for the new season, with his shirt number to be revealed later.
