Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his desire for a strong start in the 2025 Club World Cup, ahead of the anticipated match against Atletico Madrid in the first round of the group stage.

Enrique said: "Life goes on and we must now focus on the Club World Cup, the players are happy and performing wonderfully in training, we want to continue improving, and the ambition is still present."

He added: "We know Atletico Madrid well, they have exceptional players, and it will be a strong match, it’s a new tournament, and we seek to have the opportunity to win."

Regarding winning the Champions League title, Enrique explained: "A very positive feeling, we have made history for the club and we are happy about that, but we must continue to prepare for the upcoming tournament in the best possible way."

When asked about his nomination for the Ballon d'Or as the best coach, he replied: "I am not interested in such awards, but I believe that Dembélé deserves the Ballon d'Or as the best player, without any doubt."

He continued: "It is difficult to achieve the same number of titles next season, because this season we won everything, the league, the cup, the champions cup, and the Champions League, yet we still have the Club World Cup ahead, which is an exciting tournament, and we have the confidence and ambition to win it."

He talked about the weather conditions, saying: "The heat will be high, but it won’t be a big problem, I have beautiful memories of the 1994 World Cup here in America, even though it didn’t end as I hoped."

He added: "I am happy to return to participate in a tournament that I consider very attractive, and it will give us a chance to compete at a high level."

Regarding facing Diego Simeone, Enrique stated: "Each team has its own different style, but we have a high-level style, in the last match between us, we were the better side in my opinion, but we lost, and that’s the greatness of football."

When asked if Paris Saint-Germain is the favorite for the title, he said: "We handle the situation as it should be, and we know that what is said must show on the field, the tournament requires a lot of effort and more matches, but we are ready, and we will take a break after it ends."

He concluded his statements by saying: "We must be ready to face any team in the tournament."
