Gerard Piqué, the former Barcelona defender, expressed his great admiration for Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique, and also talked about his favorite candidates to win the Ballon d'Or in 2025, during statements reported by the newspaper "Sport".

Piqué said: "Life is now completely different as a businessman, I used to play under the pressure of thousands of fans, but now I am following the growth of the Kings League project. Many of my colleagues advised me to look for something new after retirement, and I really enjoy what I am doing."

He continued: "We hope to announce the Kings League in North America by February 2026, the project is continuously expanding."

Piqué spoke about the participation of stars, saying: "Neymar only came to take a penalty, he wanted to help his team in the final, and he was ready to fly to Paris to execute the penalty."

Regarding Luis Enrique, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain, he said: "I know him well, he is a great coach and a true leader. Everyone is now starting to discover his coaching abilities. He always says, I don't need stars, I need a team, and since Kylian Mbappé's departure, Paris Saint-Germain has become more cohesive and plays one of the best styles in world football."

Concerning the Ballon d'Or, Piqué stated: "I nominated Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembélé to win it. I have played alongside them, they are amazing. Ousmane was like a brother to me, and you know him well. As for Lamine, he is an exceptional player, and he is at Barcelona now, so I hope he wins the award, but if Dembélé wins it, I will be happy too."

He concluded his statements by saying: "Legends and current players are part of the Kings League project, having stars like Jules Koundé and Aurélien Tchouaméni is very important, and everyone loves the idea of leading a team, the same goes for Lamine Yamal. The project is very similar to video games."

It is worth noting that the Kings League is an entertainment tournament in football where each team is led by a current star or a legend, and consists of 7 players, with the match lasting only 20 minutes divided into two halves.
