The German club Bayern Munich has begun talks with Nico Williams, the winger from Athletic Bilbao, to sign him during the summer transfer window.

According to 'Sky Sports', Max Eberl, the sporting director of Bayern Munich, held a meeting with the player's agents in recent days, and Williams has shown his preliminary agreement to move to the Bavarian giant.

Williams has requested an annual salary of 20 million euros, while the release clause in his contract with Bilbao ranges between 60 and 65 million euros, making it difficult to complete the deal quickly.

Bayern Munich is looking to compensate for the departure of Leroy Sane, who joined Turkish club Galatasaray, and has placed 22-year-old Williams at the top of its priority list. The player participated in 45 matches with Bilbao last season and contributed to 18 goals.
