Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of the England national team, has opened the door to the possibility of extending his contract beyond the 2026 World Cup, affirming his commitment to continue despite the recent friendly loss to Senegal and the unsatisfactory performance in the past period.

Tuchel stated in his remarks: "I will always be interested in staying because I love this group of players and the opportunity I have received. Coaching England is a great honor, and I feel the support, confidence, and respect from the federation."

Regarding the recent defeat to Senegal, he explained: "I did not sleep well after the match; we lost at home, and that is painful, but my desire to continue has not changed. I still enjoy the experience and feel excited about the challenge."

The England coach added: "We are lacking enthusiasm and passion at this international level with the teams; it is not just about talent and skills but about collective style."

He continued: "Senegal played with passion and made history. Would we have felt the same happiness if we had won? I don’t think so."

Tuchel emphasized the importance of creating an atmosphere full of enthusiasm within the team, saying: "We need to celebrate more the goals we score and create an atmosphere that expresses joy more deeply; this should be our nature or part of our culture."

He concluded his remarks by saying: "I will soon travel to the United States to begin preparations for the 2026 World Cup, to analyze the atmosphere there and how to adapt to the hot climatic conditions."
