Yasser Al-Mashel, the president of the Saudi Football Federation, confirmed that French coach Hervé Renard will continue to lead the national team, denying any intention to dismiss him at this stage.

Al-Mashel clarified that the Saudi national team has witnessed significant development since the beginning of this year, noting that Renard has made noticeable changes in overall performance, despite the losses that have upset the fans.

The president of the Saudi Federation apologized to the fans, confirming that direct qualification for the World Cup was the primary goal, but that there remains an opportunity available through the Asian playoffs.

Al-Mashel pointed out that a formal request has been submitted to host the playoff matches, but emphasized that the team is ready to play them anywhere determined by the relevant authorities.

He explained that the current phase involves building a new generation for the national team, affirming that the Gold Cup will be an important preparation station, expressing confidence in the team's ability to reach the next World Cup.
